In the future, MTS plans to cooperate with mobile phone manufacturers to launch 5G mobile phones to the Russian market from the end of 2019 to the beginning of 2020.

MTS said that in the 5G network test in Kronstadt, the measured 5G network speed reached 1.2Gbps (gigabits per second), which can fully guarantee the use of 5G mobile phones. As planned, in the initial phase, the 5G network in Kronstadt will be used only by key institutions and will be used to develop innovative application technologies such as driverless vehicles, the Internet of Things, telemedicine, tourism and education services, virtual and Augmented reality products, etc.
